Inktober 2017
'A very caring and nurturing attitude, seeing the children very holistically and not just on the academic and quantifiable'.
Parent Questionnaire 2018
In 2017 we participated in 'Inktober' as a way of promoting creativity and encouraging people to take timeout each day away from their laptops, televisions and computers. It has been proven that ‘doodling’ or ‘sketching’ can have a really positive effect on people’s wellbeing so we wanted everybody to get behind the project.
We opened Inktober up to pupils, parents, carers, staff, governors and members of the community.
Each day in October we provided a new one word topic – these were displayed in the KS2 corridor for the pupils and also tweeted aswell as being displayed it in the school entrance each day.
The sketches were then displayed in the corridor and at the end of ‘Inktober’ we invited all participants in to see the finished work.
The pictures had to be drawn on the paper provided and only using black ink. This wasn’t about producing the best artwork it was about people interpreting the topics and more importantly, taking some time out each day to be creative and put everything else to one side.
