Wraparound Provision

We are thrilled to announce the new wraparound provision for pupils of Shrubland Street Primary School.

The provision is made up of a breakfast session from 7.45am till 8.45am (currently until 9.15am) and 2 after school sessions – 3.15pm until 4.30pm and 4.30pm until 5.45pm.

Children will be collected and brought to the club at 3.15pm and parents may collect at any time until 5.45pm. If children attend any clubs after school they may attend the wraparound provision.

The cost of each session are as follows:

Session 1 – 7.45am – 8.45am = £3.50

Session 2 – 3.15pm – 4.30pm = £4.50

Session 3 – 4.30pm – 5.45pm = £5.00 (3.15pm - 5.45pm = £9.50)

Sessions can be booked via the School Money website

After school sessions need to be booked by midday of the day you require a place. There is a late fee for booking on after this.

A late fee of £5.00 will be incurred if children are collected later than 5.45pm and parents/carers will be charged for missed sessions without providing 24 hours notice.

Managing the provision is Debbie Fraser who will be supported by Harriet Fraser.

‘Our aim is for children to be supported in their own chosen play, rather than having activities presented to them. We encourage children to communicate and develop their social interaction with others of different ages. Activities such as gardening, cooking, model-making and role play develop their imagination, and there will always be opportunities to let off steam outside - playing football or cricket etc. If a child wishes to make a huge Lego model every evening, that’s fine too, as we want to recreate a home-from-home atmosphere. Any cooking or craft activities are always included in the session fee.’

The breakfast session will consist of toast and cereal and there will always be fruit and drink available.

The after school, children will be provided with a range of healthy snacks, and like the breakfast session, regular fruit and drinks will be available at all times. Children will be able to choose to eat first or play, and food will be available until 4.30pm. This provides a lovely social time for the children where they are able to mix with different age groups, but don’t feel under any pressure to eat at a certain time.
