Our School Values
Shrubland Street Primary School has developed a set of 'School Values' with input from pupils, staff, parents and carers and governors. We pride ourselves on our values and the high expectations we have at Shrubland Street.
To work together with tolerance and understanding.
To make others feel included. Take notice of everyone's opinions and make them feel welcome. Accept people's ideas and to be willing to contribute even if you disagree with them. All different, learning together.
Aaryav and Yuvaan
To show respect and have a positive regard for all.
Showing respect is understanding others decision and feelings. We all should demonstrate generosity towards others, no matter who they are. having a positive regard for all is about spreading positivity, it is important that we ALL care.
Freya, Ishita and Sophia
To be actively caring.
To help others if they are not feeling good. To display kindness and to show care for others, no matter what skin colour, gender or type of person they are. It is so important to care.
Freya, Ishita and Sophia
To be responsible, resilient learners.
Being able to never give up, even when things are challenging. To take ownership for your learning and be responsible for how you learn. It is important to help others to tackle difficulties with their learning.

British Values
At Shrubland Street we uphold and teach about British Values which are defined as:
- Democracy
- Rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
These values along with our own school values are integral to our vision and day to day life at school. They are also reinforced in whole school assemblies and through timetabled sessions within our broad and balanced curriculum.
'Pupils are proud of their cultural heritage and have respect for modern British values'.
